| *added and adjusted 3 photos Village of Sleepy Hollow Ken Wray reports on the state of the Village October 2010. Mayor Wray discusses the following: -The Village Board innovative efforts to enhance the appearance of Beekman Avenue and the Village downtown. New seating benches and flower pots were installed. Sleepy Hollow officially opened a new Senior - Community Center on Elm Street. This is the first new Village building constructed in over 75 years. A new unique natural playground utilizing the existing trees and rock terrains is being built in Douglas Park. As a result of a unanimous vote Village trustees directed SHDPW to build the new Webber Park island complete with a beautiful new sign located at the gateway of New Broadway. Since the island was installed there has been a notable reduction of truck traffic on New Broadway. The village met with Architecture- Building Department head Sean McCarthy and hammered out new laws to help minimize crowds during events at Kingsland Point Park. Through the efforts of Trustee Karin Wompa and Sleepy Hollow Downtown Revitalization Director, Susan Roth, there is a brand new soft playground, gym equipment, a public seating area and community herb garden at Morse School. Mayor Wray detailed the village board delivered a balanced budget capped at 2%.
