Barrel Bros GAM200 / 250 DigiPen Institute of Technology 2008-2009
| Barrel Bros is a 2D two player puzzle platformer where the players use barrels to solve puzzles and defeat enemies in their way while trying to escape the construction yard. This was a digipen Institute of Technology GAM 200 / 250 team project. I took this class my sophomore year (2008-2009) while attending school for a degree in Real-Time Interactive Simulation (Video game programming). Team mates and programming / non-programming responsibilities are: Paul Kankiewicz (Me) (Graphics and sound programmer, sound effects recorder [Yes, those are my voices]), Reggie Meisler (Architecture programmer / technical director. He also wrote the main BGM for the levels from scratch), Cem Schemel (AI, gameplay, and input programmer / producer), and Joshua Davis (Physics and level editor programmer / designer). I also made major contributions to the design of the game. For example, I designed and created most of level 3. I also completely designed and created the credits level. The game was programmed in C++ using a component based engine (Programmed by Reggie Meisler). The game serialized data using Tiny XML. Our teachers were Ben Ellinger, Rachel Rutherford, and Chris Peters. Check out my game design blog at: sporadicdesign.blogspot.com |
