Googie architecture in Las Vegas
| Googie is a style of architecture that thrived in the 1950s and 60s. It started in Southern California as a way to meet the needs of the "car culture" and spread eastward from there. Googie is often associated with the space, jet and atomic ages. Think Disney's Tomorrowland or The Jetsons. This vid shows some examples of Googie architecture in Las Vegas along The Strip and Boulder Highway as well as in a few spots off the beaten path. |
